Osservatorio Astronomico WCO237

Astronomical Observatory WCO237

Welcome to the Astronomical Observatory WCO 237, located in the picturesque setting of Montecatini-Terme. Under the guidance of Director Dr. Carlo Muccini, we are passionately dedicated to the research and exploration of the vast universe that surrounds us.

Our main mission is the study of supernovae, those stellar explosions that provide valuable insights into the life and evolution of stars. With the use of sophisticated instruments and modern observation techniques, our team of astronomers is constantly engaged in the discovery and cataloging of these incredible cosmic explosions.

But we don’t stop there. Observatory 237 also stands out for its dedication to the study of comets and asteroids, contributing to the understanding of the origins of the solar system and the analysis of risks associated with asteroid impacts on Earth.

Furthermore, astronomical photography and spectroscopy are other important areas of research that we cultivate with dedication. The images captured through our powerful telescopes allow us to admire the celestial beauty and study distant celestial objects in detail. Spectroscopy, on the other hand, enables us to analyze the light emitted by stars, revealing valuable information about their composition and structure.

At our observatory, we also conduct tests and developments of advanced tools for astronomy, constantly seeking to improve the technologies used in our research.
